Fancy escaping the British winter? Is that a stupid question?

This article is a few years old (click the pic) – I wrote it for a now defunct travel mag – but all the beautiful places featured are still very much there. In the sunshine. Being gorgeous. (Even the one in Canada, which must be cold by now, is probably still sunny). This is for everyone who has whinged about the crap British weather today. And there have been a few, me included. Today was the day I found myself staring out at the wind-whipped trees beneath skies the colour of octogenarian nasal hair and similarly drippy, saying out loud, ‘goodbye’, to the sun until March. So to all my fellow sunlight junkies, this is for you.

Go on, have a little dream …
